A sales tax exemption certificate can be used by businesses (or in some cases, individuals) who are making purchases that are exempt from the Utah sales tax. This certificate exempts a purchaser from paying sales tax on items that they obtain from a seller. There are a variety of situations including where items are purchased for re-sale or re-lease, medical equipment, and religious uses amongst others.
