Official Transcript Request

Liberty University’s Online Degree Programs Official Transcript Request Process Is Easy

We are excited to have you as a Liberty University student! As part of your admission requirements, you need to submit official transcripts from previous college(s) or universities that you have attended. To help you meet this requirement, Liberty University will make every effort to request official transcripts on your behalf.

If your previous institution does not allow third-party requests, we will notify you to request the transcript yourself. Additionally, if you have an outstanding balance at your previous institution, we will be unable to process your request.

To begin this process, please complete the Official Transcript Request Form below. You will be required to log in, or sign in as a guest, to complete this process.

What is an Official Transcript?

An official transcript is the certified record from a college’s registrar’s office (or records office) of all coursework a student has attempted. An official transcript should include the school’s name, the student’s name, courses, and credits earned broken down by semester, cumulative GPA, dates attended, and degree and date conferred (if applicable).

Please note: If you have a copy of your official transcript in your possession and have opened the envelope, the transcript is no longer considered official. If you have not opened the envelope, it can be mailed to:

LUO Admissions Verification
1971 University Blvd
Lynchburg, VA 24515

An official transcript can also be submitted through an electronic transcript database provider such as Escript, Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse, or others. This electronic transcript should be sent directly to Liberty via your school’s system. If an email address is requested, use luoverify@liberty.edu.

Liberty’s Processing Timeline for the Official Transcript Request Form

Once your transcript request has been received, the processing time will depend on your previous institution’s response. After Liberty University receives your official transcript from your previous institution, we will complete a transfer credit evaluation within an estimated 1-2 business days, and transfer credit will be applied to your file. A complete list of transfer credit will be available via your ASIST account.

Liberty will reach out 3 times to an institution. After 3 unsuccessful attempts, it will be your responsibility to contact the school. Official transcripts are required within 60 days of your admissions decision or before non-attendance drops for the first set of matriculated classes, whichever comes first.
